Fire Safety Training - Evacuation Drill (避難訓練)
Yesterday we had the emergency return home by direction in groups in the case of an earthquake.
First the earthquake was announced and the students quickly got under their desks for protection.
Teachers opened windows and doors. Then checked the students. Attendance.
The students covered their heads with books for protection.
Teachers not in classrooms, checked the school for danger and reported attendance. Others set up the parents' reception tent.
Then the students moved to the yard. The vide principle checked attendance and the principle spoke to the elementary, junior, and high school students.
The vice principal checked attendance. Then the principal of the junior high school talked to the students.
The students returned to their homerooms and prepared to move to their return home groups.
While the students were in their emergency return home groups, they watched a safety video about what to do if a suspicious person enters the school.
Students with brothers and sisters in the elementary school waited near the reception tent.
Then it was time to leave the school. They left the school in stages to not over crowd the buses.
It was a smooth operation, but now we shall reflect and look for ways to improve the safety of the students.
